An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
